How To Create A Facebook “Like To See” Page

Misused, many dislike the helpful tool of forcing users to join a page to see the hidden content. Although, this tool can be used to help promote a product, or a website. In this small step by step tutorial I will explain to you how to create this. We will create a “like to join” page by using an application called FBML. In the tutorial it is explained how to install. Having users join can create a lot of traffic because it has a chain reaction of having others joining, and having them stay. Remember to give a catchy name to your group to have people click.

Step 1.  Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/ and click the “Create Page” button, and create you page.

Step 2. Go to http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=4949752878&ref=ts and click “add to my page”

Step 3. Add the page that you want people to join to see hidden content

Step 4. Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/#!/pages/manage/ and find the page you added FBML to, and click “Edit Page”

Step 5. On the edit page (page) find FBML and click edit again

Step 6. Add the code below to your FBML

<div>
<div style=”height: 200px;”>
<!– start non-fan part –>
<div style=”margin-top:10px; position: absolute; top:10px;left:0px; height: 200px;; width:100%;”>
STUFF HERE WILL BE VISIBLE BEFORE JOINING
</div>
<!– end non-fan part –>
<fb:fbml version=”1.1″>
<fb:visible-to-connection>
<div style=”margin-top:10px; position: absolute; height: 200px; top:10px;left:0px; width:100%; background-color: #FFFFFF”>
STUFF HERE WILL BE VISIBLE AFTER JOINING
</div>
</fb:visible-to-connection>

<div><div style=”height: 200px;”><!– start non-fan part –><div style=”margin-top:10px; position: absolute; top:10px;left:0px; height: 200px;; width:100%;”></div><!– end non-fan part –><fb:fbml version=”1.1″><fb:visible-to-connection><div style=”margin-top:10px; position: absolute; height: 200px; top:10px;left:0px; width:100%; background-color: #FFFFFF”></div></fb:visible-to-connection>

And edit the box title accordingly
PLEASE NOTE:  The before and after effects wont work on the page when you are the admin, so try it out on a friends account, or have a friend try it out for you.
